Professor Refiloe Masekela

Refiloe Masekela is an Associate Professor and a Paediatric Pulmonologist. She is the Academic Head of Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at the University of KwaZulu Natal, Durban, South Africa. Her area of research interest is asthma epidemiology including access to affordable medicines in children as well as pulmonary function testing and improving access to pulmonary diagnostic tests in Africa. She is the co-Chair of the Global Asthma Network (GAN) and is a Science Committee Member of the Global Initiative of Asthma (GINA). She is the President of the Pan African Thoracic Society (PATS) and member European Respiratory Society Global Lung Initiative (GLI) Network.
